Job Summary

The Developmental Evaluator will immerse themselves in the Partners in School Innovation Networks for the purpose of designing and testing metrics that guide the Program Team?s implementation and enhance organization-wide learning about our Theory of Change. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Launch the Developmental Evaluation process for stakeholders, which will help to collaboratively conceptualize and develop the DE design and approach (learning framework, methodology, work plans, reporting, etc.)  

  • Develop a living work plan for the evaluation, including an agreed set of deliverables (which may change over time, depending on the needs of the program). Orient and manage other evaluation or data collection teams as they arise;

  • Provide quality assurance of all deliverables, including regular intermediate report logs that track details of DE and document all events that occur (i.e. planned, unplanned, and associated outcomes) and the final report of the evaluation;  

  • Facilitate regular meetings with program leadership and measurement & evaluation staff to collect data. Conduct analysis of the data collected and present digestible analysis regularly to program staff and key partners through the data-review process and other participatory meetings; and

  • Track and communicate high-quality information to program staff and key partners on the program?s progress that can inform timely and data-driven decision-making; and regularly record decision making, program changes and/or changes in the environment in report log.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Masters degree in anthropology, sociology, or political science or equivalent required.

  • Doctorate preferred. 

  • Five to ten years of experience in a data/evaluation role in the education, nonprofit or public sector. 

  • A strong ability to communicate effectively with various audiences and bring people along in meaning-making.

  • Experience successfully leading an organization or team through design thinking and process improvement. 

  • Formal training in quantitative and qualitative social science research methods and an understanding of basic statistical concepts. 

  • A proven commitment to equity, an understanding of how public systems drive social outcomes, and a desire to deepen your awareness and competency across racial, cultural and economic lines.

  • Proficiency in qualitative methods, analysis, and software programs

  • Proficiency in common quantitative software programs including Excel spreadsheets, SurveyMonkey, SPSS, R, Google Forms, Google Data Studio, Tableau.
