Diesel Regional Technical Manager

 

Our client is North Americas largest alternative fuel system technology designer / provider. From Engineering to production, they produce and supply top of the line cutting-edge alternative fuel technology .

 

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in Medium-Heavy Duty trucks with experience in the areas of technical troubleshooting, customer service and training. Natural gas / propane fuel systems experience is a plus but not required. The position will be responsible for customer support through product development, product launch and supporting production/service.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Communicate detailed technical information between quality and engineering personnel, and the field technicians.
  • Work with technicians on the installation of Dual Fuel Systems.
  • Work with technicians on troubleshooting of Dual Fuel Systems.
  • Work with customers to ensure timely and effective support of components.
  • Pre- and post-production activities including vehicle testing, production and operation support.
  • Develop and deliver technical training as required to the customer / field technicians to ensure a high level of customer product knowledge and expertise.
  • Assist with producing technical documents.

Position Requirements:

  • At least five years of heavy-duty diesel engine or vehicle experience.
  • Experience with and strong working knowledge of engine related diagnostic software.
  • In-depth knowledge of engine and vehicle controls systems and data acquisition
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to communicate well with people of varying technical abilities and levels.
  • Computer skills ? fluent in software such as: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Self-starting - ability to work largely unsupervised.
  • Flexible hours with frequent local and international travel up to 30%
  • Valid drivers license with a clean record.  

Preferred Position Requirements:

  • ASE Medium-Heavy Truck Certification preferred but not required.
  • ASE Electronic Diesel Engine Electrical Diagnosis Specialist Certification a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with natural gas vehicles, systems, and related experience will be considered an asset
  • A 2<sup>nd</sup> language would be a plus (French and or Spanish) but not required.

Salary / Benefits:

Salary is largely based on experience, certifications and skills that the candidate possesses as well as the availability for travel.  The ideal candidate will be offered a very competitive salary and benefit package. We are open to all levels of diesel technical experience and we will provide on the job training. We do provide health insurance with no out of pocket cost to our employees as well as 2 weeks paid vacation to start.
