Marketing and Alumni Coordinator

American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU), is a national, not-for-profit organization that provides programs, events and fundraising activities in support of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel?s foremost center of higher education and research. Since its inception, Hebrew University?s scientists, scholars, and researchers are committed to solving the most pressing global challenges of our time. 

The Alumni Relations department aids AFHU Development goals by fostering alumni communities in our regional locations and expanding our alumni community across the U.S. The Marketing department develops and maintains national marketing initiatives while providing marketing collateral for our regions to help raise awareness and support for the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

 

We are looking for an intelligent, creative, and highly motivated Marketing and Alumni Coordinator to support alumni and marketing initiatives. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Alumni Affairs and partner with the Director to implement and coordinate a comprehensive Alumni Relations Program in order to support and complement AFHU?s aim of fostering excellent alumni relations, and to contribute to wider Development and Marketing success. 

<h1> </h1><h1>Responsibilities</h1>

 

Marketing and Communications

  • Project management of alumni/marketing projects
  • Maintain, manage, and report on AFHU?s Alumni social media and web presence, including social media campaigns
  • Writing and editing marketing copy for web, emails, events, and other related collateral
  • Manage AFHU?s email program
  • Stay up to date on non-profit marketing trends and best practices
  • Engage with alumni and other stakeholders, representing the Department and AFHU in a positive and professional manner

Development

  • Assist in managing Alumni Annual Fund campaigns
  • Help promote regional and national alumni events
  • Initiate alumni research and adding/updating information in Raiser?s Edge for alumni by using a variety of research tools and data gleaned from eblasts, webinars, mailings, and events

Data Quality and Entry

  • Prepare data quality reports and maintain data hygiene
  • Data entry ? Constituent and Gift Entry support, ensure Alumni Annual Fund gifts are recorded correctly
  • Maintain Alumni Annual Fund gift tracking
  • Coordinate report requests and format reports as needed

Administrative Support 

  • Provide administrative support to the Alumni Relations Director and Marketing team
  • Manage day-to-day administrative duties for the Alumni Relations Department (filing, maintaining inventory of marketing materials, invoice processing, budget tracking, etc.)
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal staff, external stakeholders and partners
  • Other duties as assigned 
<h1 style="margin-top:32px">Qualifications</h1>
  • Bachelor?s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of professional experience in relevant roles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong experience with community management on social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Skilled at research and maintaining very accurate records
  • Excellent team and interpersonal skills; self-motivated and can work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to seek creative solutions with limited resources
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Extremely organized and able to prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner
  • Ability to use navigate new technologies and programs
  • Ability to work creatively and flexibly in a changing organization
  • Ability to effectively promote organizational mission and values
  • Experience with MailChimp and WordPress preferred, but not required
  • Experience with graphic design projects and software; familiarity with Adobe Suite products and ability to perform basic graphic design a bonus
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud?s Raisers Edge 7 (a plus)
