Your Impact: As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will be apart of a rehabilitation team assisting us in our mission of getting New Yorkers ?back to life.? You will manage a caseload of patients, in collaboration with a licensed physical therapist, to ensure top-notch patient outcomes.  As a PTA at SPEAR, you will play an integral role in ensuring our patients achieve their goals and aspirations. You will be a valued member of the SPEAR team, working alongside our physical therapists, aides and care coordinators.

  • You stay up-to-date in evidence-based practice, and communicate with your team members on a daily basis. You respond to all patient concerns within 24 hours.

Empathy & Service: Through empathy, you exhibit 5-star customer service to all SPEAR patients. You respond efficiently and accordingly because you understand their feelings and needs.

  • You listen to your patients and treat all interactions with great care. You truly care for your patients and create a positive healing environment around you.

 

Accountability: Patient outcomes are your top priority. You ensure all patient records are kept up-to-date and 100% accurate. You work hand-in-hand with the physical therapists to ensure patient appointments are scheduled for the proper cadence during their Plan Of Care (POC), and you report any changes in status to the physical therapists.

  • You review all patent charts > 24 hours prior to seeing them and discuss the POC with the evaluating physical therapist.
  • You document in a timely manner, ensuring all patient records are maintained within 24 hours of the appointment.
  • You advocate for your patients by assisting them in scheduling their follow-up appointments, and you respond to all patient emails within 24 hours.

  • Report to: Clinical Director
  • Primary Interactions:  Care Coordinators, Physical Therapists, PT Techs.

Job Qualifications

  • Current NYS PTA Licensure
  • Associates Degree, accredited by an accredited PTA Program
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
